Wooden stool with a striking knot in side light

Every piece is unique: a knot and cracks mark the front.
The solid wooden cube is photographed from the corner so that two sides are visible. A large, dark-rimmed knot with a fine crack stands out on the light front, while the side in shadow appears considerably darker. Dainty swivel castors stand on the grey concrete floor beneath the edges. The contrast between warm wood and cool concrete emphasises the raw materiality.
